Why I’m Here…

I’m a Peace Corps Volunteer turned teacher. Joining the Peace Corps not only encourages but requires you to challenge the status quo in the post to which you’re assigned. Now, after 3 years of doing just that in Paraguay, I’ve entered into the world of education with the same mindset.

In my short time as a teacher, I have already discovered the joy of connecting with my kids. Each day, I look forward to the personal interactions that I have with each of them. However, in the back of my mind, I can’t help but think that there is room for improvement in how our education system works.

This blog is to learn more about myself as a teacher and to invite others to help me answer the most important question: how can we make things better?

Who I am…

My name is Liz Wolfe and I’m a 4th grade teacher at a Title I school in Phoenix, Arizona. After Peace Corps, I became a Teach For America corps member. I am currently pursuing my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education at Arizona State University. My students and I are an enthusiastic bunch and are known as “The Wolfe-pack.”

Thanks for visiting; I hope to hear from you!
